It's summertime!

Summertime is finally here! Santa Barbara has been blessed with amazing weather year round, but you can't beat the long days and warm nights of summer. Wedding season has arrived and listed below are some of the top summer trends of 2010.

Weightless fabrics 

Fabrics that are light as air--like chiffon, tulle, and organza, will feel like a dream for those balmy summer nights. 

Monique Lhuillier's latest collection is light and ethereal and picks up on the weightless trend with lace, silk tulle and feathers. 

Mother Nature

Flowers are almost always a staple for a wedding, and many designers are incorporating flowers into necklines, trains, shoulders, even the whole gown may be adorned with flowers. Christos debuted a youthful collection with thousands of embroidered delicate flowers on tulle gowns. 

Texture

Interesting textures and fabric mixes will provide a unique spin on the traditional wedding gown. Designers are mixing and matching different fabrics and playing with pleats or layers this season. Vera Wang is a great example of a designer who uses organic shapes and brings textures to a new level.

Shine at your summer wedding with crystal clear beading

Iridescent beading gives a subtle hint to a gown. A shiny fabric dotted with Swarovski crystal gives just the right amount of glow for the glamorous bride.

Shylene and Frank

We had the honor of coordinating Shylene and Frank D'Addario's wedding, which took place on May 22, 2010 at the Four Seasons Biltmore. The ceremony was in the Mariposa Gardens, a lush Spanish style garden which overlooks the Pacific Ocean as well as the Channel Islands. The reception was in the Marina Room and was designed by Nico Designs. The newlyweds had a fabulous time dancing the night away with their family and friends. We are so lucky to have had to opportunity to help them make their day special.
