Our New Team

If you have noticed a group of young ladies trailing behind Melissa at our recent events, you are not alone! Events of Santa Barbara has decided to incorporate a team of interns to better serve our clients' needs and the time has finally come for us to introduce you to them!

Each of our interns is a student of communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara and is bursting with excitement to work in Event Coordination. Get to know them - they'll probably be around for awhile!

Sarah Macqueen (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

Sarah is a third-year communication major at UCSB. She is very outgoing and her main goal is to make sure that everybody has a good time at the events she plans. Sarah loves to dance, surf, and spend time with her sorority sisters.

Marcella Thompkins (Pasadena, CA)

Marcella is a third-year communication major and english minor at UCSB. Event Planning has been a dream of hers for years and she is so excited to have the opportunity to work with Events of Santa Barbara. In her spare time, Marcella loves to bake, watch movies, make movies, and read read read :)

Joleen Tsai (Irvine, CA)

Joleen is a second-year communication major at UCSB. She loves to plan events right down to the last detail to make sure each one runs smoothly. In her spare time, Joleen enjoys spending time with her sorority sisters, catching up with friends, and seeing her family!

Alyssa Zabala (Monterey, CA)


Alyssa is a third year communication major at UCSB. She enjoys every aspect of event planning and, most importantly, seeing people smile when they see their event come together! Alyssa enjoys hanging out with loved ones, relaxing at the beach, painting, going to the movies, and shopping!
